Ruminations on the Concept of Conscience

If you have ever watched an interview with a serial killer you will understand:

Watch the cavalier way they discuss the taking of another human life. Watch them. Watch their body language and facial expressions. Dennis Rader can’t quite recall a detail so he clucks and bobs his head from side to side as if he can’t remember if he needs a half a cup of sour cream or the whole 8 ounce container, but he is confessing to the details of a woman’s murder, albeit without that fine point which eludes him at the moment the judge is asking for it

You can actually Google “How to get a Conscience” on WikiHow. One subsection advises “Unlock your conscience by practicing empathy.” Great, great advice for any and all capable of that exercise.

I watched a good scary movie last night called, “The Dark and the Wicked.” It had a few jump scares, my favorite kind of special effects (super subtle), my favorite sound effect ( A bow string drawn once sharply across a violin) , and my favorite premise ( Just because you don’t believe in evil, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist or come to your door.)

Be safe. The boogeyman wears all sorts of disguises: turtleneck sweaters, phony electric company uniforms, and 3 piece suits. The Ring Camera is a good thing. What it is not is a Litmus test.

Knock, Knock.

Who’s there?

Good question.
